Intergen has gained planning permission for a 320MV/640MWh lithium-ion battery site at DP World London Gateway. The $267 million project could be expanded as far as 1.3GWh. The Intergen battery will be used to support and stabilize existing electricity supplies. Construction is expected to start in 2022 and become operational in 2024. Intergen is looking to develop another large-scale battery project at its site in Lincolnshire.
