Oil Economy Focus Rapid Review
Total and its partners, which include Nigerian National Petroleum Corp, South Atlantic Petroleum Ltd, CNOOC E&P Nigeria Ltd, and Petrobras Oil & Gas BV, have started production from Egina oil field which lies in 1,600 m of water 150 km offshore Nigeria. It will produce 200,000 b/d of oil, or about 10% of the country’s production. The field is being developed using the Egina floating production, storage, and offloading unit, which is the largest one that Total has ever built.
