It’s essential that all of Europe oppose Russia’s energy intervention,” said Brenda Shaffer, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. Piotr Naimski, the Polish Government’s Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure considered that “Security is like independence. It needs to be indivisible…” adding, “… I think Germany would pay an enormous price if it goes for [the Nord Stream 2 project] because it threatens European unity…”
