SSE Renewables and Equinor have announced the completion of a deal that will finance the project for a major offshore wind farm: the Dogger Bank wind farm in the UK. The financing for the first two phases of the project has represented “the largest ever offshore wind financing anywhere in the world” and will amount to around $8 billion. The wind farm will be able to power as many as 4.5 million homes annually.
