Fuqing-5 nuclear reactor, which is China’s first nuclear power project to use China’s Hualong One third generation nuclear technology, has just been connected to the grid. Experts have said that Hualong One could succeed in the international market and serve as a new solution to the world’s resource shortage, as well as playing a role in China’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Both Argentina and Saudi Arabia have shown interest in the Hualong One nuclear reactors. Six reactors with this technology are under construction in and outside of China.
