Oil Economy Focus Rapid Review

The Baltic Pipe gas pipeline will provide Denmark and Poland with direct access to Norway’s gas fields. It is a collaboration between Energinet and the Polish gas transmission system operator GAZ-SYSTEM SA. It is on a EU list of key infrastructure projects that are of common interest to Europe because of the essential role that Baltic Pipe could play in contributing to the development of Europe’s internal market for gas and the fortification of the EU’s security of supply. Baltic Pipe will include the expansion of the Polish gas infrastructure, consist of approximately 800-950 kilometres of new pipelines, and is projected to start its gas transmission services by the end of 2022.
